1. What got you started with this brand? What was your inspiration? What is the idea/concept behind it?

The Bake Bar all started from an unexpected hobby that turned into a passion project this quarantine. I always loved eating out and trying all sorts of food. And since we had no other choice but to stay at home, I eventually started exploring recipes and creating different kinds of meals to satisfy my cravings. I actually had no intentions of selling these cakes at the start, but after hearing positive feedback from my closest friends and family, I was definitely inspired to share my creations, spread happiness through my cakes, and start this little homemade business of mine.

2. What is your best-selling product?

The Bake Bar specializes in making Tres Leches–a new food trend and relatively famous dessert that originated from Mexico. I like to keep its classic taste while mixing it up by adding my own twists and interesting flavors. The best sellers would probably be the Cereal Milk Tres Leches and the Strawberry Tres Leches. Both of these cakes offer all the moist and milky goodness a Tres Leches cake should have. They are both light, fluffy, and full of flavor–but not too sweet.

Although my personal favorite would have to be the Cereal Milk version. This cake offers the right amount of sweetness soaked in a cereal milk mixture overnight and topped with irresistible toasted cinnamon cornflake crunch. The Strawberry version remains a classic and favorite to many as well, since the fresh strawberry toppings perfectly complement the light yet soaked sponge cake.

3. What do you want people to experience with your brand/product(s)?

The Bake Bar definitely strives to create moments that require no occasion at all to celebrate yourself or someone else. Through our homemade cakes, we hope to elevate our customers’ taste buds and bring simple joys during this pandemic. Whether it be bonding over merienda with family, sending a care package to your friend, or just enjoying a really good dessert after a meal, we hope to inspire and keep a positive outlook at this time.

4. What tips and advice can you give to entrepreneurs who are just starting out or are planning to start their own brand?

To all those who would love to be their own bosses, I would definitely recommend that you take that leap of faith and do what you love to do. Create a brand and product that you most believe in. Do your research and be as innovative and creative as possible. At the end, I think it all comes down to what you’re most passionate about and staying motivated during the whole process. At first, I was also hesitant about starting my own business and had my fair share of challenges along the way. But just know that mistakes are definitely a part of the journey and everything is a learning process.

5. What’s next for your brand?

The positive feedback and comments from customers constantly inspire me to better my craft and create really good cakes. In the future, I hope to get more creative and bring more variety to our small and exclusive menu. So please stay tuned for more updates and announcements!

6. What other additional information and details would you like to share?

The best way to satisfy your sweet tooth and Tres Leches cravings is to try our cakes yourself–we promise you won’t regret it. If you would like to order or have more inquiries, please do visit and message us in our Instagram page.
