1. What got you started with this brand? What was your inspiration? What is the idea/concept behind it?

During the ECQ, dried flowers started to become a trend here in the Philippines. Soon enough, my sister and I started becoming fond of these dried flowers. And it was sometime in July 2020 when we decided to start Dear Posie.

The inspiration behind Dear Posie was a lounge bar in Hong Kong. We visited this bar last 2018 and were at awe of how romantic and whimsical the interiors were and how the whole place was surrounded with floral arrangements. As sisters, we’ve always wanted to put up a “Flower Bar” where you can have a good drink while immersing yourself in an enchanting and relaxing atmosphere.

At first, we focused on selling Do-It-Yourself (DIY) kits. We wanted people to stay at home and let their creativity flow by arranging dried flowers and grasses. We personally find arranging your own bundles of flowers very therapeutic, plus you get to display this and be proud of your very own arrangement.

As for custom orders, we want our brand to have its own identity and personal touch. We want to make sure we do not repeat designs for our bouquets. We always add a unique twist to our bouquets, so that our clients feel that the design was really made specially for them.

2. What is your personal favorite product from your brand?

We love lavenders. Aside from its natural calming scent, they are versatile as they can be included in customized arrangements or as a standalone bouquet.

3. What do you want people to experience with your brand/product(s)?

We want our clients to express their real emotions or feelings through our posies. Most of our arrangements are customized, and we really take the time to communicate well with our clients–the color palette they want, the arrangement size, and also the budget they have. We want our clients to feel that we pay attention to every little detail so that they can receive the flower arrangement of their dreams.

Sharing happiness and spreading love are our main goals at Dear Posie. We believe that there’s nothing you can’t express with flowers. Plus, we love handwritten letters and so we encourage our clients to send us their messages for their loved ones.

4. What tips and advice can you give to entrepreneurs who are just starting out or are planning to start their own brand?

Research, plan, and have your own identity. Focus on your brand and not on your competitors. The more you work on your brand, the more you will learn and grow.

We also believe that quality matters more than quantity. Invest in really good materials. Prioritize the satisfaction and trust of your customers with the products you are offering–loyalty goes a long way.

5. What’s next for your brand?

Hopefully we can start doing event styling for small gatherings, or even micro weddings. We are also working on shipping nationwide to cater to other clients inquiring outside of Metro Manila. Lastly, we hope we would be able to put up our Flower Bar (a physical store) in two years’ time.
