1. What got you started with this brand? What was your inspiration? What is the idea/concept behind it?

As an aspiring interior designer, my source of design inspiration comes from the elements of nature. I have always been keen on exploring natural and local materials found in our country that can be turned into something that’s both functional and beautiful.

Now that we are all spending our days at home, this made me more conscious about how to create a better living space that engages both productivity and warmth. I saw this as an opportunity where I can showcase local materials, talents, and expertise–that our local craftsmen are capable of–through home décor.

Starting a brand of my own has always been something that I envisioned for myself–and so I thought why not start with something I am passionate about. The idea behind La Rosa Home is to continuously support and explore the exquisite crafts made by our local artisans, and by curating pieces that would look and feel great in anyone’s home.

2. What is your personal favorite product from your brand?

Although we still have a lot of exciting pieces coming in, our favorite product has got to be the ‘All Wrapped Up’ ladder display. Made from rattan and buri–both natural fibers that are known for its sustainability and low carbon footprint–this ladder display instantly brings light and life to any interior space.

3. What do you want people to experience with your brand/product(s)?

All our products are crafted and sourced from different provinces around the Philippines. We want our customers to appreciate the hard work, dedication, and talent our fellow craftsmen have while also showcasing the local materials our country has to offer.

Our goal is to allow people to get creative with their own spaces. We believe that a home is a reflection of who you are, and we want our clients to be able to express themselves through our pieces.

4. What tips and advice can you give to entrepreneurs who are just starting out or are planning to start their own brand?

Work around your interests. Being focused on a concept that continues to inspire and elevate your lifestyle creates a source of motivation for when you start a brand of your own. Once you start encountering challenges, allow yourself to be patient with yourself and take the process step by step; treat those moments as a learning experience. The next thing you know, you’re at the peak of your goals–and that’s what matters!

5. What’s next for your brand?

One of our major plans before the year ends is to take in custom pieces where customers can freely create their own designs using locally sourced materials, while still incorporating functionality and good design. This would provide a more personal touch to each one’s living space.
